Because if we didn’t have a Black Friday sale, we’d probably have to change our name. Head over to The Axe Store and pick up some awesome Axe art. FREE SHIPPING on everything all day long. We even marked down our newest posters!

The Black Axe just released 2 new posters! The first one is titled Swamp Viking and it’s an 18”x24” 5 color poster beautifully printed on Mr. French paper. I gotta admit it turned out sooo awesome. The registration is perfect!

The 2nd one is a redux of the Polar Bear Club poster we recently released but this one’s all Axe style color scheme. It’s also an 18”x24” 5 color poster on Mr. French paper. It has a metallic bronze ink for the lamp and a glow in the dark ink for the bulb. Pretty damn fancy if you ask me.

All of us at The Black Axe are huge poster nerds. It’s an ideal way to own a quality piece of art on the cheap while directly supporting the artist who created it. Whether you’re a collector or just an appreciator of nice looking things, here’s a compiled list of my favorite spots on the web to both check out and score amazing posters.

When it comes to poster blogs, OMG is my most frequently visited when I want to find out about new rock posters and art prints from top poster artists. One of the first blogs to tackle the subject matter, OMG manages to stay fresh and at the top of its game on the daily. It’s overall a great place to shop new releases and get inspired from incredible artwork.

This weekend my girlfriend and I took a bike ride to the National Mall. On the way, we stopped by an outdoor market in Georgetown and found some really interesting posters.

The first booth specialized in silk screened movie posters by Cuban artists. These posters were created either for a movie, or in celebration of a particularly famous movie. The subject movies were from various countries, but I took a few pictures of ones from recognizable American films. As the don’t-give-me-shit-for-bad-photos disclaimer goes, they were taken on a cell phone, on kind of a cloudy day, the posters were wrapped in plastic, I was hungry, a bit tired…
