All of us at The Black Axe are huge poster nerds. It’s an ideal way to own a quality piece of art on the cheap while directly supporting the artist who created it. Whether you’re a collector or just an appreciator of nice looking things, here’s a compiled list of my favorite spots on the web to both check out and score amazing posters.
OMGPosters
When it comes to poster blogs, OMG is my most frequently visited when I want to find out about new rock posters and art prints from top poster artists. One of the first blogs to tackle the subject matter, OMG manages to stay fresh and at the top of its game on the daily. It’s overall a great place to shop new releases and get inspired from incredible artwork.
Inside The Rock Poster Frame

ITRPF is a relatively new blog devoted to rock posters and art prints but it’s already become a regular stop on my poster blog crawl. What i find especially nice about ITRPF is the publisher actively updates their twitter account with new posts. You can follow them at http://twitter.com/RockPosterFrame
PosterWhore

Also new to the poster enthusiast scene is PosterWhore. Apparently still in beta, PosterWhore gives the poster artist the unique opportunity to post their own products directly to the blog. PW has also abandoned the typical scrolling blog template for a more visceral poster viewing experience. Im looking forward to seeing where this site goes in the future.
ExpressoBeans

Expresso beans is more catered to the collectors side of the poster scene. EB has a growing database comparable to Gigposters but also features run quantities, sales history, and the ability to post your wants and trades. If you’re looking for a specific poster, Id recommend checking out EB first before hitting ebay which has a tendency to hyper inflate poster values. The forum is also a great place to get tip offs on new releases before they are released to the masses.
Gigposters
http://www.gigposters.com
The undeniable grandaddy of them all is of course Gigposters. Closing in on ten years of activity, GP is the most comprehensive collection of rock posters on the planet. Gigposters is constantly updated with new posters, a lot of which are for sale direct from the artist. You can also check out the site’s classified ads for an even easier view of what’s available. Even if you’re not looking to purchase anything, GP is an ever expanding historical archive of quality posters perfectly capable of stealing hours away from your life just browsing.
That’s it for now, if you have any other favorite poster sites, please let us know. Also, remember that we love posters so much, that WE MAKE THEM OURSELVES. Check out ours for sale at http://www.merchline.com/theblackaxe
